Upward Bound

Upward Bound is a free college preparatory program for qualified high school students. Through Upward Bound, students develop the skills and motivation necessary to ensure their high school graduation as well as enrollment and success in college. Students and their parents must meet the program's eligibility requirements to participate.

Participation Benefits

  • Attending the Summer Residential Program at Binghamton University
  • Tutoring through the Upward Bound Tutorial Center
  • Arranged and facilitated campus visits
  • Academic, financial and personal counseling
  • Academic programs and cultural events
  • Information on educational opportunities
  • Assistance in completing college entrance and financial-aid applications
  • Assistance in preparing for college entrance exams
  • Presentations and workshops on scholarships, financial aid and other educational topics
